A native of Montréal, Québec, Canada, Julie Bélanger Roy is known both as a violist and as a classical singer. Julie regularly plays with Symphony of the Mountains, Knoxville Symphony, as well as Oak Ridge Symphony. She teaches violin, viola and voice, and works as a session musician for WaveTransform Studio where she records both voice and strings for local and international artists. Julie’s recent opera performances include the role of Tituba in the University of Tennessee production of The Crucible as well as Suor Zelatrice in the Utah Festival Opera production of Suor Angelica. Julie enjoys performing a wide variety of styles, from classical music, early & folk music, to heavy metal. She is the front woman of the Symphonic Metal ensembles Märchenbilder and Gone in April, and endorses Realist Violin by David Gage.
