Our family is delighted to have found, classical guitarist and teacher, Andy LeGrand. Andy’s command of classical guitar is impressive, he has studied under renown classical guitar instructors himself and shares his knowledge and understanding with his students. Andy’s personality is as soothing as his music, our son thrives on the calm teaching style Andy espouses to. While being intensely accurate and encouraging, Andy maintains a learning environment that promotes diligence and effort with ease. Andy is positive and fresh, he motivates his students to strive for excellence just by his example. We feel both privileged and honored to have our son under the tutelage of such a fine guitar instructor.
I really put a lot of time and effort into finding a great and knowledgeable guitar teacher, and I did not have to look much further than Andy and his wonderful instruction. My son is learning so much, even from the first lesson. My son was very nervous to start but felt right at ease with Andy’s patience for teaching. I am so happy to have found such a great instructor!
Musical instruction is a wonderful gift to give your child and finding the right instructor is so very key. We have been so very pleased with the instruction our daughter has received from LeGrand Music Studio for the past four years. Andy has a wonderful way of teaching guitar and music theory that is both interesting and engaging for all ages. We have watched our daughter gain so much confidence with her music not only through lessons but also by performances in recitals and ensembles. She not only likes playing the guitar but has recently started playing other instruments as well with relative ease—all a result of the musical instruction Andy has progressively instilled in her. We highly recommend LeGrand Music Studios as one of the best venues for learning classical acoustic guitar and the love of music.
I am an old dog trying to learn a new trick. I love Andy’s positive approach and constant motivation and support. He continues to encourage me to learn things I never thought I could. The studio is more than just lessons; reaching out to the community, bringing together other musicians for concerts, informal activities, supporting groups and instructors outside the studio.
As an older student who had not taken guitar lessons in more than a decade, I was somewhat apprehensive about resuming guitar. These concerns were immediately alleviated upon my first contact with Andy LeGrand. I have found him to be a wise, patient, and gifted teacher. He has surrounded himself with colleagues who share these values. Not only was my appreciation for guitar encouraged and deepened, but my ability to read music improved dramatically – opening doors for me that had previously been closed. It has been a joy to watch students of all ages and playing levels learn and grow, and to discover artists, composers, and resources which were previously unknown to me. I cannot imagine a better experience!
Andy LeGrand is a talented, skilled, and — above all — patient teacher. Andy has a gift for zero-ing in on a student’s skill level, and for figuring out what the student’s next steps should be in order for him or her to progress as a guitarist. His instructions are easy to understand and always right on the mark. And his pleasant, laid-back manner makes lessons relaxed and enjoyable. I could not recommend him more highly!
A little over a year ago I decided to take some steps finally to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a Classical guitar player. Andy has been a great teacher. He’s very knowledgeable and has a friendly, no stress teaching style.
Even though my practice habits leave much to be desired, I have learned much and can now play classical pieces that I would have never dreamed possible before. I also love the way Andy sponsors many different events like ensembles, master classes, and recitals to keep his students involved. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn solo guitar.
I have always wanted to learn the guitar and have picked it up and put it down over the years. I finally made the commitment to myself to learn. I am taking online lessons with Andy, and cannot say enough how enjoyable and beneficial they are. From choosing a guitar to source material, to direction and focus, each encounter has been rewarding. I am now dedicated to learning music and the guitar. The online classes are excellent and easy on my schedule. There is no pressure with driving to a class and dealing with traffic or wasting time. As an adult student, this is extremely beneficial. LeGrand Music Studios is helping me achieve a lifelong goal. I think having that expert guidance at least at the beginning is unmeasurably beneficial. This direction allows for the best foundation which I can now build on.
